The Numis Network Review: Blame, Justify, and Complain

You control your own life. Whatever you focus on becomes your reality. Many people today tend to focus on the wrong things that lead them further and further away from success. One of the things that we learned at the National Achievers Congress were the three things that most people do, often without even realizing it, that causes them to remain stuck in patterns that hinder success.

The three hindrances are:

Blame: Blaming others or even worse, yourself. Blaming others is an easy way out and blaming yourself is even easier because most of us take responsibility for our results, which is good. However, blaming yourself and dwelling on what you (or some else) did to create a situation only causes you to get stuck in a repeating pattern. The best thing to do is to accept the situation, let go of blame, focus on the lessons learned, and move on.

Justification: Justification, or creating stories in your mind that demonstrate being just, right, or valid is another cycle that will put success far out of reach. It’s easier to justify than to face reality sometimes.

Complain: Words are powerful things. And complaining simply causes you to focus on negative things and reasons why things won’t work. As long as you complain, you will never see success because there will always be a reason things won’t work or why things are never good enough.

Instead of wasting energy on blaming, justifying, and complaining it is more productive to use that energy on taking action to change a situation. Your thoughts determine your results in life. So think good thoughts and take good actions! When you make a mistake, remember that it is a lesson. Don’t waste time blaming, justifying, and complaining about the mistake. Learn from it and move on!
